OSAKA RULE BOOK & PLAY GUIDELINES

1.Reg Fee is Kes 150 ONLY. Late comers will be charged an additional Kes 20.

2.Tourney will run for about 3wks No score will be updated posted past the cutoff time-midnight.

3. You are encouraged to play at least 25 games per week to enable you to complete all the games before deadline or u just divide the no of games by the no of weeks of play to finish your games in good time.

4. If u forfeit a game u r losing, +150 spread will be added to the winning scores.

5.The winner should post a screenshot of the board for the TD to update the scores. This should be immediately the game ends to avoid disputes it is the sole responsibility of the winner to post the scores or a tie.
This does not necessarily means that a loser is not allowed to post the boards and scores. Let us observe the 96Hrs timeline to post the boards immediately a game is completed.

6. Each player is expected to play equal number of games against each opponents and ensure 100% of the games are played and posted before the end of the tournament.

7. All complaints to be directed to the TD or President for resolution.

8.You are free to consult your dictionaries during playtime. We play on the Scrabble Go mobile app.

9. Prizes will be distributed in the ratio of 3:2

10. We are playing 8 games per opponent .You start 4 and your opponent 4 for fairness as starters in scrabble usually have 70% chance to win.

11. We will be giving a walkover or +150 if opponent ends the game the game prematurely (adjucated without being nudged ). If you are still behind after adding 150 to your score, submit a score of 300 – 200 in your favor. No walkovers for unfinished games past the deadline.

12. Reg Fee is due at before the official start of the tourney.

13. If you will not have completed at least 80% of your games (and mark you, not the average) by the end of the 3 consecutive tourneys you will be banned for the next Osaka tourney due to non compliance.
This can always be reviewed depending on the circumstances that one was not able to hit the threshold and this will be at the discretion of the TD/President.

14.Let us keep it scrabbly on this group, failure to do so u will be suspended and lefted for 3 days at least at the discretion of the President/TD.

15. You are advised to post your wins (in the recommended format eg G10 11 389 4 356 meaning in game no 10, player 11 beat player no 4 with the above scores) within Four (4) Days the end is complete to avoid any backlog in updating the scorecards and to make the TD work easy at the end of tournament. Failure to do this might lead to drastic measures by TD/Chair which is not limited to deducting up to 3 wins, deducting 50 marks in your spread in 5 of your best wins or eventually disqualification from the tournament if it is persistent.

16. Walkovers will not be awarded for unstarted games or incomplete games after end of osaka

17. We are using the collins dictionary in the scrabble go app.
